This BBQ Adventure is Arts brainchild. As a lifelong fan of ribs
and the Alabama Crimson Tide, Art wanted to finish his senior year with
a study that highlighted his passions: food, friends, and Southern
people. Outside of this BBQ project, Art's proudest accomplishments
include a game winning home run in the 3rd grade, meeting the Drive By
Truckers, and teaching his dog to shake hands. We want to include his
real accomplishments: Alabama's only 2008 Truman Scholar, President of
Alabama College Democrats, and head intern for Empower Alabama. A proud
native of Russellville, Art hopes to work in politics for a couple of
years before entering law school.

participates in Southern Ambassadors, this is the group that works with
admissions to help prospective students get a better feel for our
college. Southern Ambassadors are also the students that give campus
tours. Will has the reputation as being one of the best tour guides on
campus. If you are a prospective student, feel free to ask admissions
when Will's scheduled tour times are. I'm sure he will not mind at all to
show you around our beautiful campus.
Will plans to pursue a career in sales and with how personable he is you have
to believe he will be great in this field of work. His dad worked for
Procter and Gamble for over thirty years, and Will believes he could see
himself doing something similar. Right now, he is looking to get his foot

Robin has done a lot of
interesting things—edited books, sung opera, waitressed, managed a gym, visited

quite like the BBQ Boys Interim project. This is her first year back on the
Hilltop since she left Alabama
in 2002. Robin teaches primarily freshman composition (first-year writing) and
occasionally freshman literature. Her other Interim project this year focuses
on unraveling the mysteries of classic crime and detective fiction.
Robin lives in Tuscaloosa, Alabama,
where her husband, Expat (Stephen A. Schneider), works as an assistant
professor at the University
of Alabama. They eat BBQ
frequently.
